Afroz and I celebrated our three year anniversary on June 15 Alhamdulilah. We usually don't do anything fancy for our anniversary, but this year, we both got excited and treated each other to some fun surprises! Here's the recap:
It's Ramadan right now, so we decided to eat iftar out. Afroz took me to Sunda, a "New Asian restaurant at the vanguard of America’s New Asian movement showcasing Eastern Asian and Southeast Asian regional cuisine." The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the crispy brussels sprout salad, tiger shrimp tempura, and garlic crab noodles. The portions were perfect, because we can't really eat too much during iftar and the flavors were really unique and tasty. I was hesitant about the brussels sprout salad, but it was awesome.
We then decided to go to the Signature Lounge at the John Hancock Center for dessert and the creme brulee was out of this world. It was so delicious and I'm craving it again as I type up this post. We've never gone to the Signature Lounge before, so when we saw the view, we were pretty amazed. We shared the dessert as we stared out into the Chicago sky and it was perfect. It was such a fun evening with really good food and I'm so grateful to Afroz for planning it all out!
But the fun didn't end there.
The next day, Afroz took me to the Chicago Helicopter Experience, where we flew over downtown Chicago in a 30 minute helicopter ride. The weather was perfect for the helicopter ride and the views were breathtaking. I was a little scared about being on a helicopter, but the ride was really smooth and safe. Check out our photos below:
