I was born and raised in the wonderful city of Chicago. I am a mom, wife, and designer. This blog started as a place for me to log photos and share research for my architectural studio projects during college, but it soon became a space for me to share my adventures around the world with my husband, fun experiences I have in Chicago, and a variety of other musings. I also blog about my handmade business, INKMADE, where I design textiles and paper goods. I have always enjoyed writing, reading, designing graphics/patterns, and taking photos. Blogging ties many of my interests together and allows me to maintain a home for my thoughts on motherhood, travel, and design.

Why do you blog?
Ever since I discovered platforms like Xanga and Live Journal many years ago, I was fascinated by the idea of sharing stories, photos, articles, and information on the web through a blog. The fact that blogging was something anyone anywhere in the world could do as long as they had something interesting to share just intrigued me. After discovering so many well written, beautiful blogs, I dreamt of maintaining a blog about my own interests. I've started many in the past and have shut them down, because I never really had a specific vision and felt hesitant to share personal stories.
And now, I have this blog. The blog that has survived the longest, because I no longer second guess the things I post on here. I love sharing stories of travel, design, and INKMADE with all of you. I enjoy maintaining this public journal in my tiny corner of the web and love looking back at memories and lessons I've learned along the way.
What is your full-time job?
I worked as an architectural designer during my time in college and after graduating, I worked as a marketing coordinator at an architecture firm. I then started working full-time on my textile and paper goods company, INKMADE.
You mention "Insha Allah" and "Alhamdulilah" in your blog posts. What does that mean?
I'm a Muslim and in the Islamic faith the Arabic word "inshaAllah" means "God-willing" and "Alhamdulilah" means "praise be to God."
What camera, lens, and photo editing software do you use?
I use a Canon 6D with a 50mm lens. I also take photos with my iPhone 7. I edit photos with Lightroom, Photoshop, and VSCO presets.
What is your favorite website and blog platform?
I absolutely love Squarespace and design all of my websites using the Squarespace platform.
I have a question that you haven't answered on your blog.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
